First Pan-African Conference on Girls and Women’s Education

Girl Child Network (GCN), the laureates of the UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education 2020, has been recognized for its project, “Our Right to Learn – Reaching the Unreached.” This initiative provides quality primary school education to vulnerable children, including girls who face barriers to accessing or completing their education. Since 2012, GCN’s project has reached 51,936 children in 240 primary schools, benefiting 25,937 girls.

Through education programs, gender-friendly facilities, and community-based mobilization, GCN transforms negative attitudes that hinder girls’ education
